He was Earl Campbell. From his stellar college career at Texas where he won the 1977 Heisman Trophy while leading the nation in rushing with 1,744 yards to a Hall of Fame NFL career with his home state Houston Oilers, Campbell is always remembered as one of the premier power running backs and was definitely the most feared back of his time.
